Endless Summer has begun

2 years in the making...

I have spent countless hours in the studio over the last two years meticulously cataloging musical concepts and sketches that alI had a common bond. To me, they all sounded like summer. But what does that even mean?

Well, growing up in rural Ohio, summer was always equated to freedom. Hikes through the woods, swimming, playing football, and riding bikes with friends then bloomed into getting my driver’s license as a teenager, driving backroads, coffee shop hangs, rehearsing with my first band, going on dates...all eventually leading to my first love (which just so happened to be a summer love). No matter the background or upbringing, I’m sure we all can relate to the rush of raw emotion and nostalgia we all feel when going back to “that place”—that state of mind—that Endless Summer.

Years later, when I first drove up the Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu, I got that same rush. Malibu obviously makes a universally positive impression on the majority of lucky folks that ever get to experience it, but there was a bond to that coastline and those mountains that felt woven into my very fiber. Those feelings of limitlessness, like a floating, dreamlike reality of endless possibilities pulled stronger than when I had first felt them as a kid.

I eventually ended up moving to Malibu and setting up shop there about 2 years ago. I’ve never felt more blessed and inspired to be able to wake up and create in such a beautiful place. Each day over the last 2 years I’ve recorded all that has come to me (even ocean wave sounds haha) in hopes to whittle down these ideas into 12 songs that encapsulate my Endless Summer. I wanted this album to be as unapologetically me as possible, exploring different characters and storylines of my youth. The ironic part is that the more I explored, the more I realized I was writing about the Endless Summer that was going on in realtime. Looking at my life now from the perspective of teenage me certainly made for some fun writing. So, I’m proud to say that the first installment of Endless Summer, WAVE ONE, is now available everywhere you purchase and stream music - https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/belhaven/endless-summer--wave-one.

I hope you embrace your Endless Summer. Thanks always for listening,
